During this season of giving, consider helping a low income family through a donation of non-perishable food. Belleza is teaming up with Head Start this season to help donate as much food as possible to families in need. Boxes will be at every Belleza location from now until January 21st, 2012.

Head Start serves about 1,000 low income children and families in our community. Even with the majority of Head Start families working, the average income for a family of 4 is less than $20,000 a year. If you purchase items for food baskets, think about foods you and your children enjoy and consider shelf-life. A bag of rice and/or dried beans with a storage container can help a family provide meals for several weeks. Canned fruits and vegetables give families some variety to their menus. And of course, macaroni and cheese is an all time favorite for young children!
